Puerto Mejillones Tennis School continues its classes during January

With the participation of 40 students, the Puerto Mejillones Tennis School developed a special classes for the summer period, continuing with the school three times a week during the month of January. After a break in February, the academy will open again in March to begin the second season of this successful sports project.

Mejillones, February 2016. Due to the great enthusiasm shown by students, teachers and parents of the Puerto Mejillones Tennis School during 2015, the sports academy extended its activities during the month of January 2016; 40 students remained training with teachers on the courts of Mejillones.

Taking advantage of their summer holidays in a healthy way, young people could share three times a week with teachers is this school led by Puerto Mejillones that is under the tutelage of Horacio de la Peña. During February teachers will take a break and classes will start on march.

Paulina Jorquera, one of the teachers of the Tennis  School, emphasizes that "This school is a great opportunity for children in Mejillones to develop through sport, learn values ​​and obtain benefits provided by the practice of tennis. Felipe and I, as teachers of this initiative, are very happy with the results obtained in this period in which we have seen grow the students in all areas and we managed to involve parents in their development. "

In this regard, general manager of Puerto Mejillones, Gabriel García-Huidobro said that "this school has been welcomed in a good way by the community of Mejillones. We wanted to give continuity in January, providing an instance in which young people could take advantage of this entertaining game. "

The objective of this project is to promote sports and healthy lifestyle among young people of the community, enhancing their skills around tennis through workouts that combine physical with psychological labor.
